I was so sorry to hear the sad news. Dr Gardner-Thorpe was my consultant from 1980 and he was such a caring man. We would often talk about our cats and the one he had that moved him over until he ended up on the bedroom floor! I will miss him very much. May he rest in Peace.

So sorry to read this; i was very fond of him and he was a very caring Godfather, and a gentle soul. He joins my father in a St John's Beaumont College reunion up in heaven... Best wishes to the family, Gavin Hooper

As a long-term patient of CGT’s, I would like to add my tribute to this true gentleman . He was supportive, thorough, and loyal to his patients- and ahead of his time. I particularly remember days on Kenn Ward and how CGT treated everyone with the same level of courtesy- from his patients through to all levels of hospital staff and medical colleagues. We remained friends post his retirement indeed exchanging email whilst he was poorly . I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to his family.Elaine K.
