FRANCIS JAGOFrancis Jago, a doctor from Feock who spent 32 years treating patients and helping to train his colleagues, has died aged 75.He lost his battle with cancer on February 26, 2010.Born in Surrey in 1935 to Cornish parents, Dr Jago met his future wife Jane while he was studying at medical college and they married before he qualified. He initially trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist.They moved to Cornwall in 1962 where he became a partner in 18 Lemon Street surgery with three other doctors.Dr Jago was also on the dispensary committee, was the police surgeon in Truro and the honorary surgeon for the Cornwall RFU team for several years.He joined Truro City Council for five years and became chairman of the parks and gardens committee.The keen rugby and cricket fan spent his retirement gardening, after spending years working on his home, and walking the coast paths with his wife.Dr Jago was survived by his wife and two daughters.
