JohnFINCH1st April at Surrey Royal Hospital. Aged 74 years.

John, soul-mate to Lynn, dearly loved dad to Richard and Edward, step-dad to Saara, Laurie, Zoe and Izzy. Beloved brother of Elizabeth and Janet and brothers-in-law Bob and Gordon. Devoted Grandad to Jackie, Violet and Vivienne, adored uncle of Leon, Emma, Neil, Angela, Natalie, Enes, Joseph and Katie. Dearly loved great uncle to Harriette, Beau, Farah, Yasmine, Logan, Sonny, Gabriella and Bobbi. Much loved step grandad to Andrea, Audrey and Cecilia.

Would family and friends please meet for cremation service at Heatherley Park, Grayshott Road, Headley Down, GU35 8LA, 3pm on Thursday April 30th.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu if so desired to Cancer Research UK. A collection will also be made at the service.

A celebration of John's life to be held at The Spotted Cow, 4.30pm onwards 3 Bourne Grove, Lower Bourne, Farnham, GU10 3QT.

No black please. John lived life to the full and we want to share memories and stories together to remember a wonderful man.

Very sad to learn of John’s passing. He was such a character, unconventional, generous to a fault, fast and furious as well as extremely clever. Most of all he was the life & soul of the party.
I met him in the 1980s at one of his infamous parties when he introduced me to his home made “caipirinhas” after he’d got back from a job in Brazil presumably. It resulted in the hangover from hell but was such fun!
He was a brilliant host in Yokohama when I visited - more partying!
It’s been years since I last saw him but someone I’d never forget.

Knew John at Swans and then Lloyds Register. Best memory is when he visited our apartment in Seoul in 1989 and first words through the door were "wheres the beer" ! , some character was John
