The obituary notice of Carl Raymond ELEY

The 'BOSS'. Such a great man with a wicked sense of humour. Will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Carl was an angsty classmate of mine at St Iltyds, a witty drinking buddy while we were young men and thereafter a spiritual mentor and shining example to me of how a person can emerge from a self-destructive lifestyle with his sense of humour enhanced. We lost touch in the noughties but began meeting regularly again over the past few years. There is so much more I wanted to say to Carl and so much more that I might have learned from him. He was taken far too soon but I console myself with the thought that to have had him in my life at all is the rarest blessing.
