A year ago today, the daylight turned to stone,
yet in quiet hours your name still finds its home;
in the life that we remember, in the stories that you told,
In the documented moments, time cannot withhold.
And in the wake you scattered, amid messages and signs,
a flicker on the screen where your presence is enshrined;
your words, your little traces, still travel, still impart:
alive in those who knew you, and held you in their heart.
Remembering a unique soul on the day that he was interred.
(In Australia, it is 10am on the fifth of February).
Sending my condolences to his immediate family whose sorrow I cannot fathom and to whom I thank for allowing his social media accounts to remain active so that we can look upon them from time to time to salute this unique individual.
Vale, Jim.
