You can tell the type of person someone was from the legacy they’ve created in the people left behind. The people who love them dearly holding them tightly in their hearts and in their minds. You see it in the lessons they’ve taught them, the sense of justice they’ve instilled. You see it in their actions, the kind and gentle way, how they love others with their humble giving hearts each and every day. You hear it in their voices. The words they use and say. Words to build up and comfort not tear down and slay. The random acts of kindness that they often display. You see it in their courage, their spirit and fighting grit. The strength and determination despite the loss of you. You see it in their heartbreak, their unity in grief. Loyally binding them together in the love you gave to them. The love for someone great who gave unselfishly, loved unconditionally and cared beyond measure. You left behind a legacy of goodness, compassion and truth. Tenderness and courage and capacity to love. You left behind strength and justice and a heart full of pride. The privilege of knowing you and being by your side. You live on in their memories and know that you did good.
