James RogerDUFFELLOn Thursday October 29th, 2020 Professor Roger Duffell aged 83 years died after a short illness. He was husband to his late wife Anne and is survived by sons Philip and David and granddaughter Bethany. Private Funeral at St Alkmund’s Church. Family flowers only. Enquiries and donations if desired to National Deaf Children's Society and St Alkmund’s Church Whitchurch to be forwarded to Rolfe's The Family Funeral Service, Tel 01948 662209.

Out of the blue, 5am, I remembered Roger and found this. Taught me Civil Engineering in the 80s and had a hobby of old road signs. Glad he had a long life and made a difference.

I remember the day when I first started teaching at Hatfield Polytechnic, Roger was one of the senior members of the department who was there for me from the very start. He gave me invaluable advice and endless support throughout the years during my time teaching at the polytechnic/University. This has been pivotal to my career throughout all these years and I hold many positive memories of Roger. Roger's kindness and care has touched the hearts of many and he will be sorely missed.
