I met Dob through our shared interest in philosophy in Newcastle around 2010. He invited me to various meetings, including with Mary Midgley, and one at his great apartment high up Byker Wall looking over the Tyne. Dob was passionate about many things - environmentalism, philosophy, architecture and he was cycling and adhering to veganism well into his eighties. He wrote at least three books in the time I knew him and I went with him to the Architectural Association to launch one of them - Organicity. He was role model for aging well, he was engaging and we had quite a few laughs. I remember he wasn’t the least bit afraid to die - it was all part of the nature he loved.
