A Mother is someone special
We should honour and adore,
Their job isn’t always easy, of this you can be sure.
Our Mother had 8 children
She worked hard for us each day
We were clean, well dressed,well fed,
What more can I say!
She even fitted in a job
But we were never latch key kids,
She was always there to cook our meals, decent meat and jersey mids.
She cooked a meal at lunch
For those who didn’t like school dinner,
She cooked again for all 10 of us
There was only her getting thinner!
There wasn’t just us eight, there were visitors galore,
Aunts, uncles, in laws, friends was thick and fast through that door!
They were welcomed fed and watered, that’s how she was you see,
Millie was not just my Mother she was a best friend to me.
