MichaelDAVIES, previously from Jackhouse, Oswaldtwistle, died in Burnley Hospital, on Saturday, September 28, aged 81. Michael was a chartered quantity surveyor and member of the Chartered Institute of Quantity Surveyors. He had an office in the 60s on James' Street in Accrington and then in Manchester. He was a keen walker with Stepping Out and The Crumblies walking groups. A keen gardener, he was well known to walkers and dog walkers in the Jackhouse area of Oswaldtwistle. He was a regular visitor and keen supporter of Oswaldtwistle Library. He was husband to Barbara, father of Martin and Ruth, grandfather to Radmilla, Amy and George, great-grandfather to James and father-in-law to Sabine. The funeral took place on Monday, October 14, at Accrington Crematorium at 11am, conducted by the minister Sarah Flanagan. Funeral director: Wolstenholmes.
