Mr Crossley - "Sir" ,
was my English teacher and form teacher in class 5S at Copthorne.
He was dedicated and went beyond the requirements of simply teaching to help pupils achieve the best possible. He sparked an interest in books and reading that is with me still. Real books not on-line replicas. he was a source of advice and guidance and without breaking any rules or protocols helped pupils with private problems as well as school work. An incredibly important influence on my life and someone I have often thought of. My condolences to the family - a sad loss.

Mr Crossley was my class and English teacher in 5S at Copthorne, 1958-1959. He encouraged me and gave me a lifelong love of English and reading. I was fortunate to make contact with him a few years ago, we talked on the ‘phone several times and my wife and I visited him and Janet at Leek Wootton. He was a fine man. You helped improve my life, thank you, Sir.

Mr Crossley taught me at Copthorne School over sixty years ago. I have very good memories of him - he was a meticulous teacher. I'm glad to learn he lived to such a good age.

He was so kind to me. I was a handful back in the day! 1967. He believed I could & I did. A policewoman for 10 years.
