The obituary notice of COUSENS

Ruth was a lovely lady and a great friend of my mother Lily Godfrey, who died a couple of years ago. Ruth was a talented artist, exhibiting at the Royal Academy, and she painted detailed landscapes of Thanet, particularly of Ramsgate Harbour and its surrounds. As a child I remember accompanying Ruth on a painting expedition at the harbour and trying my hand at drawing all the buildings I could see. I realised then how much patience and skill it required to make a realistic portrayal of the world around one so have since left it to artists like Ruth! Ruth's husband, Stan, died last year. Condolences to the family, particluarly to their son.

Remembered with fondness and thanksgiving for all her dedication to those she taught and for the causes she was so passionate about.
