CyrilCOLEIt is with great sadness we announce the death of Cyril aged 75. Darling husband of Kathleen, Dearest Dad to Rosie & Jenny, father-in-law to Tony & William. Precious Grandad to Briony, Tara & Ryan. He was a wonderful farmer, an award winning wildlife conservationist & much sought after water diviner. He was loved by all and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Due to the present restrictions it has to be a private cremation, with a memorial service for all to attend at a later date. Any donations in his memory will be shared between Devon Air Ambulance Trust & Farming Community Network, please send cheques to J Westacott & Son Funeralcare, 2a West Street, South Molton, EX36 4DG.

I'm an American living in London and fell in love with Devon years ago. I, too, saw Mr. Cole on Channel 4's "Devon and Cornwall" and was so deeply moved by Mr. Cole's commitment to the betterment of farming and ecology. I literally burst into tears when his memorial came on the screen. he was a hero and his love for nature will live on for years to come. I pray for his family and hope they know how a total stranger touched my heart so deeply.

Have just been watching the Ch4 program(20/07) about Devon & Cornwall. The Barn Owl was very lucky to have met him and so are we the viewers. Was shocked to see the tribute to him at the end. This maybe late but had to say. Mr Cole - thank you.
