WinifredCLAYTON(Winnie) Please pray for the repose of the soul of Winifred Clayton of Accrington, who passed away peacefully on 4th November 2018, aged 87 years. The devoted and much loved wife of Lawrence, much loved mum of Christine and Shirley, dear mother-in-law of David and Shane, and cherished grandma of Luke, Louise and Mark. Winnie was a former nursery assistant at St. Mary's RC primary school. She enjoyed her work and made many friends there. She was also a member of St. Mary's RC Church, Oswaldtwistle and a former member of St. Mary's Ladies. An avid clothes shopper, Winnie's wardrobe was always full to bursting. When she wasn't shopping, she loved her holidays abroad taking in the local culture and Italy was her favourite destination. Winnie met her husband Lawrence at a dance in Oswaldtwistle Town Hall. They married in March 1954 and enjoyed 64 happy years together. She was a true family lady who always enjoyed getting together with the family. Winnie's funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA on Friday 16th November 2018 at 1pm. Flowers welcome to the Chapel of Rest.
