Edward AlanCHALWIN("Eddie") Passed away suddenly at Abbeydale Nursing Home on Thursday 20th August 2026. Aged 81 years.

Much loved husband of the late Phyllis (Mo), dearly loved father to Stuart, Samantha and the late James, much loved grandad to Sophie, Christian, Benjamin, Joseph and Luke, great grandad to Poppy, Phoebe, Theo and Miley, beloved brother to Mavis and Val, much loved brother in law to Irene and Val. Eddie will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Eddie's family would like to Thank Abbeydale Nursing Home for all their loving care.

A Celebration of Eddie's life will be held at Markeaton Crematorium (Main Chapel) on Monday 21st September at 1.30pm.

Family flowers only please, however donations in loving memory of Eddie to benefit Alzheimer's Society may be made online by visiting funeral-notices.co.uk or may be placed in the donation box at the Service.

Sam and family, so sorry for your very sad loss. Remembering your dearest Dad at Abbeydale where he used to give me a little wave and smile when I saw him. May he rest in peace with your dear Mum and brother Jim. God bless them all. Sending you all so much love, Emma xx

Thank you for being the most wonderful dad ever. Thank you for always being there, for all the love, laughter and daftness we've shared throughout the years along with all the help and advise you've given me. For all those hours spent helping me with my homework. You truly will always be my hero dad and I will miss you so much.

Hope you've met up with mum and Jim and you are all having a good catch up.

You will always be in my heart dad, love you so much xx
