AlanCATLOWMr Alan Catlow, of Accrington, was born on November 2, 1947, in Rough Lee, Accrington, to the late Arnold and Doreen Catlow. He was the first born son, brother to the late Colin, and leaves loving sister Helen. Uncle to Craig, Lee, and Emma, and great-uncle to Louis and Dylan, he leaves loving cousins, and was a special friend to many. Alan passed away peacefully in Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday, January 9, with Helen at his side. Alan had suffered poor health for the past few years, but fought bravely. Alan grew up in Fern Gore, Accrington, and was an active member of Cubs, Scouts, and Sea Cadets. He also loved the outdoor life, and spent many years rock climbing and camping, and in recent years fishing. He was a member of a fishing club, where he had a great bunch of friends. He served his time as a joiner with A Spencer, and also worked for Lancashire Shopfitters and S & G Aluminium. He loved holidays abroad, mainly to Turkey. His funeral was due to take place on Thursday, January 20, at 10.20am at Accrington Crematorium Chapel, led by Kathy Unsworth. Family flowers only; donations to RNLI c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
