John GrantCARRUTHERSIt is with sadness we announce the death of John Carruthers on 17 April 2022 in Blairgowrie, Perthshire, at the age of 89. John was a long term resident of Ashford; former managing director of S J Carruthers Ltd; Spelthorne Borough Councillor and Surrey County Councillor; rugby player, runner and fencer; player of the piano and Northumbrian small-pipes; much loved by his family and friends and respected by his colleagues. A Service of Thanksgiving for his life will be held at Woodthorpe Methodist Church, Ashford at 2pm on Saturday 28th May 2022 to which all family, friends, colleagues and neighbours are warmly invited. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Community Foundation for Surrey through their website www.cfsurrey.org.uk
