Michael JohnCAHALANE20.01.1937 - 10.03.2008 It is with great sadness and deep regret that Colette announces the death of her beloved husband Michael, who passed away suddenly at their home on Monday March 10, 2008. Devoted and loved father of Bev, Michael, Jeff and Hayley, father-in-law to Ann, Tracey and Robert, much loved Grampy to Nicola, Lauren, Richard, Darren, Jodie, Alex, Sarah, Alyn, Ellie, Jessica and Ben, adored brother of Eileen, Ann, Margaret and the late Mary. Colette and Michael were married for 50 wonderful years, and celebrated their Golden Wedding with a surprise party in January this year. Mike was a larger than life character, a kind and gentle man, who always greeted people with a cheerful smile, or friendly wave. He worked for years at Hoovers, followed by Triang Toys and then Thorn EMI. An avid snooker player from a young age, he captained the RAFA A Team for some years. He later became a keen Bowls player and joined the Cyfarthfa retired men's team. The funeral service was held at St Mary's RC Church, with Fr Michael St Clair officiating. The family were overwhelmed by the amount of people who paid their respects both at the church and the creamatorium. The family would like to thank everyone for their messages of condolence and floral tributes. Donations in lieu of flowers will be donated to Coronary Care at Prince Charles Hospital in the coming weeks. Thank you to the Bearers Richard and Darren Cahalane, Stephen Prosser, Keith Wills, Martin Horvath and Robert Baker, to the Paramedics who attended at the home on the day, to Rev David O'Keefe who conducted the interment at Cefn Cemetery, the Grawen Arms for the buffet afterwards and to all those who attended the funeral. Finally, a special thank you to Fr Michael for his support and words of comfort during this sad time, and to Mike Foley and Sons who carried out the funeral with compassion, dignity and respect. Michael will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends. Lord keep him safe, His heart's made of Gold, This man full of love, If the truth be told. Goodnight, God bless until we meet again. xoxoxo
