Peter JohnBRUNSDONBRUNSDON Peter John. Born Saltley 1939, died peacefully March 6, 2008, aged 69 in Cardiff, after a long illness. Much loved grandfather, father and husband. Old Boy of Central Grammar School 1948-56, University of Manchester 1956- 60, Teaching Di- ploma Saltley Col- l e g e 1 9 6 1 . A talented and well re- spected teacher at Sheldon Health C o m p r e h e n s i v e ( 1 9 6 2 - 6 7 ) a n d Riland-Bedford High School, Peter went on to a dedicated career in Higher Ed- ucation at Didsbury College Manchester, University of Gla- morgan, South Wales and South- ampton University. A lifelong cam- paigner for CND and for wider ac- cess to Higher Edu- cation, Peter set up the first Humanities degree programme at Glamorgan and was integral in opening access to students from non- traditional back- grounds.
