BROOKS, LILIAN (NAN)A Tribute to Nan In honor and memory of Lilian N. Brooks on what would be her 98th birthday March 24, 2017
One day God made a special woman And sent her to be with us on Earth. Those blessed enough to know her Know what that special friendship was worth. For ninety-seven years She never wasted one minute, Always living her life to the fullest And giving so much joy to everyone in it. The sounds of music Brought life to her soul. Dancing was her passion, And her love Tommy made her whole. Tommy was taken from her Too early fighting the war. Now together again no doubt in his arms They can dance forever more. Loved by so many In person and on-line, She would spend hours reading cards and comments Over dinner and a glass of wine. The color blue and pink carnations Always brought a smile to her beautiful face. And that smile is what we will forever hold close Among all the fond memories time will never erase. So many sweet memories you left us with The moment God called you home to Heaven. Even now we can almost hear the angels singing your favorite Take Me Back to Dear Old Devin. Rest in peace sweet Nan, we love you so And know you would not want us to cry. So we will hold you close in our hearts Finding peace in God's promise that this is but a temporary good-bye.
