OlwinBOWERSMrs Olwin Bowers, of Sharples Street, Accrington, died on Friday, October 15, aged 86. Olwin started her working life as a weaver, before training as a state enrolled nurse, a job she carried out for a number of years. She then took up employment at Rists Wires & Cables, where she worked for many years. She then moved to Asda, where she worked for 10 years, before retiring because of ill health. Olwin enjoyed many holidays abroad. After retirement she took up cross stitching, a hobby she enjoyed for many years. Along with her late husband Jack, she was a keen member of the Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club. Olwin was the much loved wife of the late Jack Bowers, her second husband, and the late Frank Crawshaw. She is survived by her daughter Barbara who lives in Australia. She will be sadly missed by her many friends. The funeral was held on Wednesday, November 3, at Accrington Crematorium, led by Neil Overton.
