Jean was a truly special person whose friendship meant so much to so many, and especially to me. For many years, she was not only a treasured friend but also someone who brought warmth, humour, kindness, and compassion wherever she went.
Working alongside Jean as a registered nurse in postoperative care at Frenchay Hospital remains one of the fondest and most meaningful times of my life. Nursing is demanding work, often filled with long hours, pressure, and emotional moments, but Jean had a remarkable gift for making even the hardest days lighter. Her sense of humour, quick wit, and caring nature could lift the spirits of colleagues and patients alike.
Jean was the kind of nurse every patient hoped to have caring for them - gentle, dedicated, professional, and deeply compassionate. She treated people with dignity and kindness, and she gave so much of herself to others throughout her career. Her warmth and generosity extended far beyond the hospital walls.
As a friend, Jean was loyal, thoughtful, and endlessly supportive. She had a wonderful ability to make people feel valued and cared for. The memories of our friendship, the laughter we shared, and the countless moments spent together will always hold a special place in my heart.
Although Jean is no longer with us, the impact she made on those who knew and loved her will never fade. She leaves behind cherished memories, lasting friendships, and an example of kindness and humanity that will continue to inspire.
I will miss her deeply and remember her always with love, gratitude, and affection. Rest in peace my dear friend and sister.
