Alasdair SutherlandBENNETIt is with great sadness that we announce that Alasdair Sutherland Bennet passed away on March 10th 2026, aged 93 years. He was a dearly loved husband and father of Alison and Fiona, who will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He was a dedicated and well-respected musician and music teacher for many years, encouraging a love of music in young people and also giving some the opportunity to pursue a musical career. When he retired, he was persuaded to become the organist for four Masonic Lodges for several years, where he was regarded with affection by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to commemorate his life will be held on Tuesday 7th April at Robin Hood Crematorium at 12:30pm. Any donations in memory of Alasdair will be sent to support the work of the Woodland Trust and also the Brooke Hospital For Working Horses and Donkeys in the Middle East.
