KathleenBATESONof Hawthorn Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 30, aged 85 years. Kathleen was a pupil of Paddock House Convent School and continued her education at catering college. She spent all her working life in catering at Blackburn Royal Infirmary, Ye Olde Brown Cow, Oswaldtwistle, and then school meals service at Central Kitchen, Oswaldtwistle, and finally St Mary’s School, Oswaldtwislte, from where she retired. Kathleen devoted her whole life to her family and will be very sadly missed. Kathleen was the loving wife of the late Stanley George Bateson. She sadly leaves behind her much-loved children Katherine, Damien, Bridget and Liam, sons-in-law Michael and John, daughters-in-law Karen and Jo. She also leaves her precious grandchildren Louise and husband Chris, Kirsty and partners Joe, Katie, Dominic, Declan and friend Molly, Zachary and partner Joelle, also her three great-grandchildren Bailey, Ellie and Benji. A Requiem Mass will take place at 10am on Thursday, February 16, at St. Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, followed by burial in Dill Hall Cemetery. Family flowers only, however donations are welcome in memory of Kathleen to Parkinson’s UK c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington. All further enquiries telephone 01254 233133.
