I worked with John on the C Division in the 70's and he was a great character, always had us laughing, I later worked with him on the motorcycle wing where he became a legend and held the record for the shortest time anyone had served on the wing, before being grounded for having an accident, in this case colliding with another member of the unit going to the same job! 20 mins I think it was, no one was injured and it wasn't Johns fault.
I was so sorry to hear of his passing and wasn't aware of the date of the funeral but I would like to pass on my deepest sympathy to his family, he was a good officer and a great human being, i learnt so much working with him in my early years and the world is a lesser place without him.
Rest In Peace John, you deserve it.
