Donald And MargaretPOWERS
Donald (Don) and Margaret Powers

It is with great sadness that the family announces the death, just days apart, of a devoted husband and wife.

Margaret died peacefully at Colehurst Farm on Wednesday 13th May 2026 aged 97 years. Don died peacefully also at Colehurst Farm on Saturday 16th May 2026, aged 99 years.

After 76 years of married life with times of joy and tears, they are reunited in death. They will be deeply missed by the many friends and family who had shared time with them. Their warmth, kindness and enduring spirits will be remembered very fondly.

A service to celebrate the lives of both Margaret and Don will take place on Wednesday 17th June 2026 at Rainsbrook Crematorium, Avon Chapel, at 11:00 AM.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, will be welcomed by the family and will be shared between the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and Friends of the Revel Surgeries. This can be done online or in person at the service.

Dear Don, dear Margaret,
My English grandfather and grandmother; that’s how I always referred to you. Don, so kind, helpful, friendly, humorous and caring. Margaret, so sweet, charming, interested in our lives, baking the most wonderful pies and also so very humorous and caring.
I will always remember the beautiful summers at Colehurst Farm and I will be forever grateful for your warm hearts and welcoming my father and later me in your home. These times count for the best times in my life. I will always remember and love you both.

Being a farmer’s daughter and having a keen interest in everything that has to do with England, I always loved my stays at Colehurst Farm. The enormous hospitality of Don and Margaret, the wonderful meals, Don’s unstoppable charm and Margaret’s energy will stay with me forever. When they visited our home in the village on the Haringvliet, the Netherlands, they were in for everything: sailing, sightseeing, visiting friends, even a popular opera!!!
Our daughters, especially Bonnie, and her friend Reinet, spent absolutely marvellous horse riding summer holidays at Colehurst Farm. Fortunately we have many pictures to watch again and again!
Don & Margaret: a legendary couple!!!!
