MarionDEWESMarion died peacefully with family by her side at Linden Lodge Nursing Home on 13th June 2025, aged 89 years.

Marion was much loved for her wisdom, care and wit by her children, Caroline, Richard and Sarah, her grandchildren, Tom, Elise, Ben and Lizzie, as well as her highly valued wider family, friends, neighbours and carers.

A service to celebrate Marion's life will be held at St. Editha's Church St. Editha's Close Tamworth B79 7DA

on Tuesday 15th July at 11am.

The service will be followed by a wake at The Globe Inn Lower Gungate Tamworth B79 7AT

to which all are warmly invited.

Between the service and the wake, close family will attend a short burial.

Family flowers only please. Donations in Marion's memory, if desired, to Wateraid and St Giles Hospice, Whittington, where Marion spent two months from November '24 to January '25. These may be given at the service or online.

I have fond memories of a lovely lunch at Marion's home in Tamworth. I always hoped that I would be able to visit again as I enjoyed her company.

I am very glad to have known Marion.

Mrs D...a total legend. Kind and funny, a wise soul with a glint in her eye and an inner strength of unfathomable depth. Fondly remembered and greatly respected. Rest in eternal peace lovely lady.

We feel very privileged to have met Marion several times, including visiting the Spital with her. Great food memories too: delicious cornflake-topped mac n cheese (this is very authentic despite what the others said!) and our spontaneous Welsh cake-making session. Lots of love to the whole family, David & Hayley xx
