EvelynABBOTTBorn April 9, 1927, died peacefully at home in Church on Friday, April 8, aged 94. Evelyn Abbott, the Beige Lady, married to the late Phil, sister to Roland, sister-in-law to Alison, aunt to Mark, Nick, Dave, and Brian. She leaves many life-long friends from when she lived in Oswaldtwistle, Countess Street, and Edward Court. She worked at Co-op Oswaldtwistle from school, Rothwells Engineering, Burco Engineering, and retired from Alspeeds Engineering, where she worked as a receptionist. She loved holidaying around Europe and the UK with Phil, family, and friends. She also enjoyed retreating to the caravan at Little Eccleston with Phil. A keen badminton player in her youth, Evelyn competed for the Immanuel team. She was also an enthusiastic bingo player and socialiser. She enjoyed arranging holidays to the coast for the Bank Street Community Centre. The funeral was due to be held on Thursday, April 28, at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium, led by Fr Anthony Roberts.
