WendyNEIGHBOURWe are sad to report the death on 27th June 2025 of Wendy Neighbour at the age of 82, a much-loved wife, mother and grandmother. During her 25 years as headmistress of the Hoddesdon Parish Church Nursery School, she was known as 'Aunty Wendy'; former pupils would greet her with this name for years afterwards. Wendy was a loyal member of the church congregation and a member and former president of Hoddesdon Inner Wheel.

The funeral service will be at Hoddesdon Parish Church on Friday 25 July starting at 10.30 a.m. There is no formal dress code, but her favourite colour was navy blue!

The brief committal service will be immediately afterwards at Woollensbrook Crematorium for family and close friends, but all are welcome to attend. Everyone is invited to celebrate her life with refreshments at The College Arms in Hertford Heath starting at 12 noon.

Family flowers only. Donations to Cancer Research UK.

A lovely friend from when we met at St.Osyth’s Training College in 1960.
We have done so much together over the years.
Fondest memories will be missed for ever. RIP dean Wendy until we meet again. Anne and Mick Steward

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
